CYS will not only present up to 50 yachts, but it will also bring you on a culinary journey at the "Croatian Fusion" Chef's Competition.
The theme “Croatian Fusion” captures the spirit of the Adriatic by combining traditional Croatian flavors with new culinary methods. Participating yachts will demonstrate the culinary expertise of their master chefs by combining local products with different regional Croatian influences, resulting in a dish that reflects Croatia’s varied cultural history. Judges, and industry professionals, will be judging on creativity, presentation, taste, and the successful incorporation of Croatian culinary elements.
The award ceremony, where winners will be announced and celebrated, will take place on the last day of the Croatia Yacht Show.
Awards will be presented for the categories “Best Croatian Fusion Dish,” “Most Creative Presentation,” and “Unexpected Pairing Award’’. Participants are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Any unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.
The "Croatian Fusion" Chef's Competition aims to showcase the exceptional culinary talents within the yacht charter community and further promote the rich gastronomic heritage of Croatia.
Rules for those wishing to participate
Yachts wishing to participate in the Croatia Yacht Show’s Chef’s Competition must register in advance and provide the name of their designated master chef. Each participating yacht is allowed one entry in the competition. The competition will take place on the second day of the Croatia Yacht Show. Chefs will have a dedicated two-hour time slot to prepare, cook, and present their culinary creations. Chefs are encouraged to showcase the richness of Croatian flavors by incorporating local, seasonal ingredients in their dishes. Any necessary food preparations or preliminary cooking can be done in advance, but the final cooking must take place during the two hours. Every master chef prepares the meals on their own yacht.
Chefs must prepare enough tasting portions for the judging panel, event organizers, and a limited number of guests. Chefs may be assisted by one additional crew member during the competition. Yachts are responsible for ensuring that their chef has all the necessities, including food and equipment.
